Concept development
plans for
Yoerg questioned the compatibility of a day care center within such a potentially busy commercial neighborhood due to noise and traffic. Darnold commented that this is a franchise facility and that other Kinder Care facilities he has seen are generally located in similarly busy commercial areas.
Breault noted that he had received a call from the Ban Tara development owners with concern about the general appearance of the architecture. Ryan Sherley noted that they will provide a colored rendering of the building to Ban Tara and to the plan commission. Jason Bast stated that he thought that Ban Tara’s concerns were regarding the roof and general plain appearance that the building may have. He further opined that the building will have as good or better architecture as the Perkins restaurant across the street.
Darnold suggested that the concept plans be approved with the following conditions:
- Fire Inspector’s and City Engineer’s comments incorporated into the final development plans,
- Approval received from the adjacent owners regarding the proposed grading onto adjacent properties,
- Letter from Kinder Care acknowledging the general commercial conditions in which the day care facility is proposed.
