MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL - COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE

CITY OF HUDSON

JANUARY 25, 2011

Meeting called to order by Mayor Alan Burchill in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 4:32 p.m.

Present: Mayor Burchill and Alderpersons Randy Morrissette, Mary Yacoub, Lori Bernard, Lee Wyland, Scot O’Malley, and Rich Vanselow.

OTHERS PRESENT: Devin Willi, Denny Darnold, and Tim Caruso (4:42 pm).

Others attending portions of the meeting: Jan Zander, Greg Adams, Angela Popenhagen, Jay Kennedy, Tom Madigan, Dennis Postler, Karen Erickson, Chuck Schwartz, Jerry Bourdon.

conduct interviews of four applicants to be consideredd for providing professional engineering services to the city of hudson: Mayor Burchill announced that the meeting was being held by the Council as the Committee of the Whole, to interview four applicants being considered for providing professional engineering services to the City of Hudson.

Presentations were heard from Ayres Associates, Stevens Engineers, Inc., Foth Infrastructure & Environment LLC, and Bonestroo. After each presentation, questions from Council were addressed.

Mayor Burchill asked how Council wished to proceed; it was decided that a vote would be taken by paper ballots to indicate each Alderperson’s selection. City Administrator Devin Willi distributed paper ballots. Mr. Willi collected the ballots and reported there were four votes for Foth (Bernard, Wyland, O’Malley, Vanselow), and two votes for Stevens Engineering (Morrissette and Yacoub).

MOTION by O’Malley, second by Vanselow to appoint Foth as the City’s new consulting engineering service, effective immediately. Ayes (4); Noes (2) Morrissette and Yacoub. MOTION CARRIED.

ADJOURNMENT: MOTION by O’Malley, second by Bernard to adjourn the meeting. All ayes (6), MOTION CARRIED at 7:03 p.m.
