REVIEW BIDS AND AWARD SALE
OF GO PROMISSORY NOTE – RESOLUTION NO. 8-09 AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE
OF $3,260,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION PROMISSORY NOTES, SERIES 2009A. Mr. Sean Lentz, the City’s financial advisor
from Ehlers & Associates, presented the results of the sale of general
obligation promissory notes which took place earlier in the day. Lentz reviewed the process of issuing the
notes and anticipated uses of the funds and provided the Council with an update
on the bond rating process. The City
continues at an Aa3 rating, which is excellent for a community Hudson’s
size. He indicated that nine (9) bids
had been received and that M & I Bank of Milwaukee had submitted the bid
with the lowest true interest rate over the life of the note at 3.3813%. The amount of the note, based on the bid
results, was reduced to $3,200,000. The
total interest and principal payments will be approximately $135,000 less than
anticipated. Ehlers recommended
acceptance of the bid from M & I and approval of the resolution.
