Registering to Vote
VOTER REGISTRATION:

To vote in Wisconsin you must first register to vote.

If you are a City of Hudson resident, you may register to vote in person at Hudson City Hall, 505 Third Street.

You may register on Election Day at your polling place.  

You may register to vote by mail.  

You may start the registration process online at My Vote WI: myvote.wi.gov

Regardless of which method you choose to register, your application must be accompanied by acceptable proof of residency. If your register by mail, this proof must be mailed with your application and your application must be completely filled out, signed and dated.

You may complete these forms and bring with you to register in person at City Hall. Forms are also available to complete when you register in person.

Directions on completing the form and a complete list of documents that are acceptable proof of residency are on the second page of the application form.

In order to register, you must be a qualified elector is any U.S. citizen who will be 18 years of age or older on election day, and who has resided in the municipality for at least 10 consecutive days immediately preceding the election, with no present intent to move. Qualified electors must not be serving a sentence, including probation or parole, for a felony conviction.

If you have moved, even if it's within the City limits, you will need to fill out a new Voter Registration Application. Please be aware, you might be in a different Ward or Aldermanic District, and your polling place could change. If you moved into the City from another municipality, you will need to register to vote.

All registrations must include your Wisconsin Driver's License number or DOT issued ID number, if one has been issued. If you have not been issued a Wisconsin Driver's License/ID Card, you must include the last four digits of your Social Security Number.

Acceptable proof of residency must be provided with every Voter Registration Application.


These documents listed below are among the documents that constitute proof of residence if they contain the voter's current and complete first and last name and residential address (not a PO Box) and are valid on the day you register. Electronic versions, where available, are acceptable.  

- An unexpired Wisconsin Drivers License or ID Card
- Any other official identification card or license issued by a Wisconsin governmental body or unit
- An employee ID card with a photograph, but not a business card
- A real property tax bill or receipt for the current year or the year preceding the date of the election
- A residential lease (Does not count as proof of residence if elector submits form by mail)
- A utility bill for the period commencing not earlier than 90 day before the date of registration
- A bank statement 
- A paycheck
- A check or other document issued by a unit of government.
- A picture ID form a university, college or technical college coupled with a few receipt or an on-campus housing    listing provided by the university, college or technical college
